  Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has accused the Federal Government of not doing enough to secure the release of victims abducted at Government Science College, Kagara. When he received Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, at Government House, Minna, on Thursday, the governor said the state has been left to handle the rescue on its own. Although he admitted that the Federal Government sent a delegation to the state and also deployed 300 mobile policemen to the state, Bello said his administration has been left to shoulder the financial responsibility. “So where is the support?   A police station in Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo state has been attacked and set ablaze by suspected hoodlums. The incident which was confirmed in Owerri, by the Imo State Police Public Relations Officers, PPRO, Orlando Ikekwo, said there was no casualties. He briefly said: “Aboh MBAISE police station has been attacked, and razed down, no casualties no loss of arm.” However, sources from the area told Vanguard that, “Policemen on duty fled and some of them injured as they were taking cover, when they saw some boys with inflammable substance pouring it around the station. “These boys did not enter inside the police station, the only thing they did was to set ablaze the station and drove away.   The Imo State High Court in Owerri on Thursday ordered an interim forfeiture of all properties said to be illegally acquired by a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, while he was in office from 2011 to 2019.   Justice Fred Njemanze gave the order following an application brought by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Louis Alozie on behalf of the state government. Some of the properties listed in the suit include the Eastern Palm University, Ogboko; the controversial Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments; IBC staff quarters said to have been illegally acquired for the purpose of Rochas Foundation College, Owerri; Magistrate Quarters among others.   NDLEA officials had raided some drug spots in Agege, Ikorodu, Lekki, Okokomaiko and other parts of the state, where they dismantled major drug syndicates and arrested suspects. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested a man for supplying rich people in Lagos with cakes, biscuits and others produced with drugs.   A woman believed to be a commercial sex worker has been arrested by the police in Ebonyi state for allegedly trying to sell her baby for N40,000, IgbereTV reports.   The Ilorin and Kaduna Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Thursday February 18, 2021 secured the conviction of two persons, Oyeniran Olamilekan and Umar Gambo for offences that border on internet fraud and impersonation. 28-year-old Olamilekan, an Electrician, was sentenced to six months imprisonment by Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on one count of internet fraud. Oyeniran was among the 33 internet fraud suspects arrested in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State on September 15, 2020.   Man stabbed to death for leaking lady’s romance to husband A 25-year-old man, Victor Ikegwuonu, has been stabbed to death in Orlu zone, Imo State, for allegedly making a disclosure of lovers’ hot romance to the husband of the lady.   Tragedy struck on Tuesday evening as gunmen attacked a bullion van, killing a police officer and two women at Ubulu-Okiti, along the Benin-Asaba expressway, Aniocha South local government area of Delta State.   Kidnappers suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have abducted two traders selling fufu, a staple food made from cassava, on the Ayetoro-Olorunda road in Imala, Abeokuta-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. Our correspondent gathered that the abductors had demanded the sum of N5million ransom each from the victims. Another source said the abductors had waylaid the traders on Saturday, at about 4:45 am in Iwofin, an area around Olorunda, kidnapping about five people including the driver of the vehicle, one Kamorudeen Olateju, and the traders.   The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a container load of Tramadol at the Apapa seaport in Lagos, Igbere TV reports. NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi stated this in a release on Wednesday. According to the statement, the agency arrested 90 persons including an Indian during raids of some drug cartels in parts of Lagos where a total of 614.396 kilograms of various hard drugs were seized. Babafemi said that about two million capsules of Tramadol (precisely 1,994,400 capsules) tucked in 554 cartons were intercepted in a container at the Apapa seaport.   The new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, has visited two spots in Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North, where gunmen attacked police patrol teams this morning, Igbere TV reports.
